Ina JangBio  WorksIna Jang (b. 1982, Korea) is a South Korean artist based in Brooklyn, New York.

The series, ’Radiator Theatre’ is a collection of photographs that Jang made on top of the radiator in her modest apartment. Jang’s lens-based practice is an investigation of form and rhythm within everyday life, inspired by the way light illuminates her room at different points of the day. The artist describes the series as “a range of wordplays, rhymes, misinterpretations, exaggerations, and lies through lyrical shapes and colors”. Jang’s meditative yet ambiguous compositions are arranged to evoke a sense of balance and ephemerality, both capturing the fleeting moment of light and calling to question our perception of reality. These photographs lie in between abstraction and representation, alluding to our fluctuating relationship with the world around us. Jang has been nominated for numerous awards, including The Magenta Foundation’s Flash Forward and International Center of Photography’s Infinity Awards. In 2016, Photo District News announced her as one of the PDN 30 Emerging Photographers. Her works have been published in Time Magazine, British Journal of Photography, IMA Magazine, The New Yorker and The New York Times Magazine.
